2020 has been a year that will go down in history — depending on how much history we might have left. Because the year has also been a significant one when it comes to the fulfillment of Biblical, end-times prophecies.

So, when I came across this headline in the “mainstream” news, I had to ask myself (and the rest of the world) if this is how another biblical prophecy could soon play out.

This is the headline: Jaws Drop at NASA: The Moon Is Rusty.

In it, the article explains that somehow , despite missing a very key element for creating rust (oxygen) — the moon is starting to rust.

And scientists aren’t completely sure why. They suspected there could be some oxygen carry-over from the earth’s magnetic poles, but there is also rusting on the dark side of the Moon, which kind of shoots a hole in that whole theory.

As soon as I read the news, my brain went right to the Bible, and end time prophecies that deal with the darkening or “reddening” of the Moon. And they come not just in the New Testament, but from the Old Testament as well.

Here are just a few of them:

Revelation 6:12 ESV
When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood,

Joel 2:31 ESV
The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.

Mark 13:24 ESV
“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light,

Acts 2:20 ESV
The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.

Isaiah 13:10 ESV
For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising, and the moon will not shed its light.

Revelation 8:12 ESV
The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light might be darkened, and a third of the day might be kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night.

Could this recent rusting of the moon be part of the prophetic process?

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
